This is me, with my wife Meredith and our two amazing kids, Graham & Margot. We enjoy life and each other and try to make people smile every chance we get, which works out well being a photographer!

If you are reading this, you already know my name is Blake Downey. I have been shooting weddings, seniors, families and kids for over 10 years. I have met some incredible people and had an amazing time. I have learned a lot in my time in photography, and I have seen a lot of trends come and go. I feel that I have come up with a style that I am proud to call my own and hope that my photos aren't too trendy and withstand the test of time.

Traditional backgrounds, heavy editing that makes you not look like yourself, and uncomfortable poses - are all things you won't find in my pictures. If you are looking for this type of photography, you're in the wrong place! I love modern bright colors, crazy backgrounds and muted colors of vintage looks as well. I'm not your traditional photographer, I love to have fun with my sessions. The more fun you have, the more fun I have, and the more fun we have together, the better your pictures are going to look.

Like bad jokes? I love them! You will get plenty of them during your session so don't be afraid to laugh at just how bad they can be! Have an idea? Throw it at me! I am open to anything. Want a picture in the middle of the road with cars going by? Lets do it (safely). Want pictures while its snowing? I'm there! I want to know your personality and what you like. If you're into nature, I don't want to go downtown. If you like an urban setting and big cities, we won't go to any parks or fields. Its important to me that you look like yourself in your photos and not overdo them so you look out of place. If you are uncomfortable during your session, it will show in your photos!

Since its just me and I don't have a lot of overhead costs, I don't have to charge what other big studios might. Contact me and we can talk about what you are looking for. I have a small studio if you would like studio photos in addition to outdoor photos.

I love making people laugh and smile. It's so great that I get to do both and preserve those smiles through photographs!

He is a great friend and has taught me a lot in the time we have worked together. Since I work with him, I would still be able to shoot your wedding too!
